ABOUT MYSELF

Much of my early childhood was centered around the ideas of being creative and thinking outside the box.. that and sheer spontaneity. Growing up on an island where tropical rainstorms are an annunal inevitability, my mother would often encourage us kids to run out into the monsoon with a bottle of shampoo and a bar of soap. After school, we would head to the mountains in search for secret hideouts. Give me a piece of cardboard and a crayon and I could keep myself occupied for hours. Also, Ole Kirk Christiansen is a genius.

My current medium of choice, as you can probably tell, is acrylic. I've become quite fond of it ever since attending an abstract painting course at TWU. This is not to say that I don't enjoy working with and/or integrating other media in my works. Acrylic is simply my first choice in expressing what I most often enjoy--the juxtapositioning of a human figure with an abstract space.
